Can therapy help me?
We will work together to create a therapy plan to help you feel better within a short period of time. Based on your strengths and interests, we will use the techniques that work best for you so that you can reach your goals in therapy.
What do therapy sessions entail?
We begin with a brief phone consultation to determine if we are a good fit. From there we will schedule a first session which runs about an hour. If we agree to continue, we’ll meet one time per week or biweekly; these sessions are 50 minutes. More often than not, as therapy progresses, we realize that many presenting problems end up being related to deeper concerns. It generally takes 3-4 sessions to get a sense of what is really going on.
I will make this process pleasant and comfortable. You will come into an incredibly warm, confidential and beautiful environment, where you will receive lots of valuable wisdom that will change your life.
How long does therapy last?
When you start working with me, we work to get you feeling better within a short period of time. You can often see results within the first 4 to 10 sessions. Often, a client will “graduate” from therapy and decide to come back to work on another, separate issue. Click here to learn more about what to expect from therapy.
My partner doesn’t want to go to therapy, can you help?
I can work with couples together or with you by yourself in order to strengthen your relationship. I also help single individuals interested in growing a better relationship.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not work with insurance companies however you may still be eligible to receive benefits. Check with your PPO insurance plan to find out if you have “out-of-network” mental health coverage, what the reimbursement rate is, and how many sessions your plan covers. If you have coverage I can provide you a monthly statement, or “superbill”, to submit to your insurance provider for a portion of counseling fees possibly reimbursed directly to you. You may also check with your employer to determine if you are eligible for services through the Employee Assistance Program.
What is your fee and do you offer a sliding scale?
My session fee for psychotherapy is $150.00 per session. I provide sliding scale fee for clients through my partnership with Open Path Collective. At this time all of my sliding scale client slots are full, but I encourage you to visit the Open Path Collective website for other great therapists who may be a good fit for you.
Do you offer a free consultation?
I do offer a brief 15-minute phone consultation for free to determine if we should work together.
