Simple moves to enhance your well-being

61080768-92da-4928-a635-0317f8cff309Do you feel like you are constantly on the move with very little time to yourself? Are you constantly rushing to catch your breath, and tick of the next item on your to-do list?

As women, we never seem to have enough time to get through all our responsibilities, let alone take time for ourselves, to just unwind.

Research shows that even a little downtime can help boost your overall health, and believe it or not can free up some mental space to get to the rest of your to-do list!

SO… remember that the next time you feel guilty for having a nap, or surfing the net – the time you take for yourself will go a long way.

Below is a list of simple, cheap activities which can help you enhance your well-being and give you the boost you need.

  1. Take A Nap. It might seem a little indulgent but even 20 minutes can be a great way to reboot and recharge your brain.
  2. Find A Comfy Spot, close your eyes, concentrate on your breathe, and viola’- you’re mediating!
  3. Start A Mini Journal– just one sentence a day- to reflect on something positive or funny (you’ll love looking back at it!)  (I would like to add the 5 minute Journal as a resource : https://www.amazon.com/Five-Minute-Journal-Happier-Minutes/dp/0991846206)
  4. Create your own vision board at pintrest.com. It’s great for gathering recipes or designing your dream home.
  5. Stretch! So Many of us forget to do this but your muscles will thank you, especially if you have tension in your neck or back.
  6. Sign up for an art class– painting, pottery, writing, whatever. If taking a lot of classes seems overwhelming, try intro or one-time classes.
  7. Visit a nearby museum that you’ve never been to. Or wander virtually at Artsy.net, where you can look at collections from hundreds of places, from the Lourve to small specialty galleries; or browse by artist.
  8. Get your Craft On by scrapbooking. First challenge: Only use stuff that’s around the house
  9. Lumosity.com: Neuroscience has never been so entertaining- brain games customized for you.
  10. Ted.com: smart videos about surprisingly entertaining subjects.
  11. Google The Phrase “Life Hacks” and you’ll find thousands of tips on simplifying common tasks and solving everyday problems. We particularly like 1000lifehacks.com
